How to write a bio that will dazzle your audience

Whether it appears on the back page of your books or the About page of your blog, a strong  bio is vital to building your brand and your credibility as an artist in any field. It should answer these questions for your audience:

  • Who are you?
  • What do you do?
  • Why are you worth their time?
  • Where can they find you?

Author Allen Schatz welcomed me to his fiction writing blog yesterday to share these tips and more with his readers. He also re-wrote his bio according to my tips as an example:

Allen Schatz (WHO) is an indie writer (when he’s not doing his day job as a financial reporting professional). (WHAT) His fiction novels are mysteries set in the world of major league baseball; (WHY) he has published three to date, collectively known as the Marshall Connors Series. Learn more about Allen and his books at: http://www.allenschatz.com (WHERE)

Hop on over to Allen’s blog for all of my tips for creating a stellar author bio, and leave a comment to let him know you were there!
