Mostly, I'm a writer.

Send This Love Note to an Asshole in Your Life

I don't know about you, but I've become exhausted with the world lately. Last year, I moved from the kind Midwest to the angry South, and then endured an election year in the age of Twitter and Instagram.

It's not easy.

Negativity abounds in this world, if you're paying attention, and no place is worse than the internet.

As the election grew closer, I noticed myself retreating, wanting to give up on everyone and stop paying attention. Then we elected Donald Trump president, and I realized I can't retreat from the negativity.

Like any other challenge, I have to lean into it.

I'd encourage you to do the same, but I understand if you need some more time to retreat for a while.

In the meantime, I'm trying to learn empathy and compassion and all that jazz. And I'm finding weird ways to channel my energy into writing and put positive things into the world.

I'm going to share them with you as I figure them out, because I have this little platform, and that's the first step I should take. They won't all be things you can buy, but the first one is, and I hope you consider it.

Send a Love Note to an Asshole in Your Life

My first tiny step:

I created these postcards with "love notes" you can send anonymously to anyone. I recommend sending them to someone who's being an asshole, because they probably need the love more than most.

You'll enter their name and address, and I'll mail a postcard with one of these random messages: "You are loved," "You are brilliant," "You are beautiful," or "You are strong."

Each postcard costs $3, and 100 percent of proceeds go to a charity monthly; the current charity is Planned Parenthood.

Send good vibes and support a good cause. And laugh a little, because this would be boring otherwise.

You can see all the postcards here.

Thanks for your support!
